Mosamaria AIDS Ministry has two (8) Adherence Club Facilitator vacancies in its chronic adherence clubs programme and encourages suitably qualified candidates to apply.
Position: Adherence Club Facilitators (Bloemfontein, Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu)
Location: Free State: Mangaung
Type of Appointment: Fixed Term Contract (until March 2019)
Main purpose:
The Adherence Club Facilitator is responsible for running chronic adherence clubs in communities and health facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and facilitate adherence clubs in the health facilities and communities and follow up patients who miss club sessions.
- Provide health education on health related issues on HIV and AIDS, TB and NCDs.
- Give support to both infected and affected clients.
- Engage in meetings with facility staff and management relating to the adherence project.
- Participate in organizing HIV/AIDS awareness events and participate in community campaigns and events to promote linkages into care, adherence and retention in care and treatment.
- Tracking and Tracing Patients Lost to Follow Up and work closely with WBOTs in following up patients.
- Conduct follow up adherence counselling to non-adherent patients.
- Refer patients appropriately including for ART and Pre-ART, TB investigation, psychosocial support, support groups (I-ACT) and adherence clubs.
- Ensure proper collection of data and completion of required information in the relevant project tools.
Job competencies/ Abilities/ Skills required:
- Good counselling skills.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, TB and NCDs.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication is essential.
- Client-centered, with a customer service orientation.
- Performance-driven, proactive and innovative, able to work independently.
- Demonstrates leadership and is a team player.
- Committed and motivated to preventing HIV and supporting people living with HIV and other chronics.
- Trustworthy and empathic.
- Involvement in some aspect of community work will be an added advantage.
Minimum Requirements:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year experience in the field of HIV/AIDS Education and other topics of human rights and all areas affecting the quality of life of communities.
- Valid 10 Day HIV Information and 20 Day Intensive Counselling certificate (from an accredited service provider)
- Basic computer skills – Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point,
Lotus Notes and/or MS Outlook.
- Bilingual, basic understanding of English and the ability to express self in Sesotho
