Mme Trudie called me on Friday 27th May 2016 and asked me to go and visit the Sehloho family in Thabanchu. I went and found that they are living in the life threatening situation.
The oldest memeber of the family is Letshego who is 21 years old. She has a two month baby and lives with two of her nieces who’s mother has passed away.
Their only income is the child care grant of R350.00 a month. She is currently trying to get child support grants for the other children, but her aunt in Welkom has taken her ID and the birth certificates of both children, which without she cannot submit the grant request.
The shack they live in is so bad that you can see outside while you are inside, through the walls. The door doesn’t lock properly so there is no security. Their situation is really very heart breaking.
Mosamaria is going to buy them a few groceries while we try to get her grant applications submitted. Any funding and donations towards the Sehloho family will be most appreciated.
